DIY #4 - Givenchy crystal nose ring

It's been a while since the nose ring was introduced. Back then, during the A/W12 show, Ricardo Tisci sent both male and female models down the runway with intricately embellished, oversized nose rings. Made from 100% Swarovski crystals and brass, the nose ring was seen on numerous fashion editorials, celebrities and also on the streets.

While I'm still obsessing over the nose ring. I've been searching everywhere for a similar version of the nose ring, but I failed.

One day I was shopping at H&M until I came across this double loop crystal earring, instantly I knew I am able to transform it into the nose ring, and so I did it !

My version of the nose ring

Here's how it's done, let's start with the smaller nose ring !

Step 1 : Cut open a double loop keychain ring by using a plier.
Step 2 : Squeeze out some UHU Glue on your finger and rub it until it forms into a ball of glue, split the ball                into half and place each ball at the end of the ring to cushion any sharp edges.
Step 3 : Trace the ring on a piece of paper and start design the placement of your jewelry that you want to                  use.
Step 4 : After you've decide on your final design, apply some glue along the circumference of the metal ring                and hold on to dry a little, approx. 2 mins.
Step 5 : Start sticking your jewelries onto the ring. Once you're done, squeeze a good amount of glue behind              the ring, sealing the metal ring to the jewelries.
Step 6 : Let it dry completely for at least 24 hours and that's it !

Let's continue with the larger nose ring.

Step 1 : I separated the smaller loop from the earring just by pulling them apart, they fall off pretty easy !
Step 2 : Here comes the difficult part, which is to cut open the thick metal. I cut it apart by using a pair of                    plier but it took me some time to do it because the metal was way thicker compared to the smaller                nose ring.
Step 3 : Repeat step 2 from the smaller nose ring.
Step 4 : Trace the loop on a piece of black card. Start sketching the ideal wing span that you like. You may                refer the original nose ring just like I did.
Step 5 : Cut it out 2 pieces of the same design and glue them together.
Step 6 : Glue the wingspan to the circumference of the ring, let it dry completely for 24 hours.
Step 7 ( optional ) : Decorating it, its comletely up to you, what I did was glue on some tiny blue gems stones                               on the tip of both wings.
